The Regional Attendance Program, facilitated by the Office of Attendance and Engagement, is dedicated to supporting schools in establishing and achieving their attendance and chronic absence goals through a comprehensive, data-driven approach. Using EveryDay Pro (EDP) data, Child Welfare and Attendance Specialists and Liaisons (CWAS/Ls) collaborate with site leaders to set tailored goals for the entire school and specific vulnerable student groups who struggle to attend school regularly. Through monthly site visits, progress monitoring, and one-on-one support, our team ensures schools are equipped with the tools and guidance needed to improve attendance outcomes, reduce chronic absenteeism, and foster a culture of consistent engagement. The program further provides critical support through Engagement Support Plans (ESP), truancy interventions, and attendance team development to empower school communities to address attendance challenges effectively.
Every school in SCUSD has an assigned Child Welfare and Attendance Specialist to support you, your front office staff, teachers and families to focus on getting kids to school each and every day. We have years of site specific data to support all we do and will adjust and adapt as needed.
Work with your site’s assigned CWAS to Create and Monitor Equity Focused, Attendance and Chronic Absence Goals to guide and improve your SPSA, CA DashBoard and MTSS goals. Every number represents a student and every student matters.
Our team of experienced staff and partners will work to design Data Based processes using an MTSS framework for your school community based on your specific students needs. We’ll help plan, coordinate and implement interventions, ESPs or whatever your community needs using current innovative restorative practices.
